We noted 5 "Pinterest-worthy" trends that many homeowners will likely consider when doing home projects this year. Have you done any of these to your home or will you consider doing them in the future?
1. Green, green, green everything
A very popular trend in 2023 was painting everything 50 shades of green. Homeowners and designers all over social media were painting their kitchen/bathroom/laundry room cabinets and bedroom and bathroom walls green. Because of its popularity transitioning into 2024, we think this trend will stay strong throughout the year.
2. Wallpaper & wainscoting
Shiplap accent walls are fading away and wallpaper and wainscoting is in! Modern day wallpaper has been redesigned to apply and remove with ease and even comes in different thicknesses to hide textured walls. Adding wallpaper and/or wainscoting to a space is a simple and easy way to brighten up a room or add some dimension.
3. Integrating and styling antiques with modern decor
#ThriftFinds has over 2.7M posts on Instagram and “What I thrifted vs how I styled it” is trending all over Instagram and TikTok. Thrift stores are the perfect place to find pieces that can add more character to a home. Adding an antique lamp, jewelry box, mirror, or basket can tie a room together and tell a beautiful story of the home and the people that live in it.
4. Bold colors
Neutrals are definitely still popular and likely will always be, however, bold pops of color are making a big appearance in the latest home design trends. Kitchen designs with all blue or green cabinets, vibrant colored rugs and throw pillows, or even brightly colored curtains to add flare to a neutral colored space.
5. Geometric backsplashes
The traditional subway tile is being less looked at and more kitchen and bathroom designs are including geometric-shaped tile behind shelves and mirrors to elevate and transform a look.
