Fall Festivities in Des Moines

There are plenty of fall activities you can participate in to start the joyful season. Finding a perfect pumpkin to carve, apple picking in the orchards, drinking hot chocolate, getting spooked at a haunted house, watching scary movies, and taking a nice walk outside to take in the beautiful scenery.

Here are some places to check out this season that we love and recommend:

Pumpkin Patches & Apple Orchards

Center Grove Orchard


Admission: $16.95 *Save money by purchasing tickets online!
Hours: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
 

Howell’s Pumpkin Patch


Admission: $18 *Save $3 by purchasing tickets online!
Hours:
10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Pumpkinville

Admission: No entry fee - inside activity prices vary (corn maze, pumpkins, campfires, kids activities, etc.)
Hours: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
 
 

Haunted Houses

The Slaughterhouse Haunted Attraction

Admission: $25
Hours: Open 7 - 11 p.m. (check their website for dates and times)
 

Adventureland Park Phantom Fall Fest

Admission: Prices vary
Hours: Open September 23 through October 29
 

Ames Haunted Forest

Admission: $25 (cash only)
Hours: 7 - 11 p.m.
